Bite Me was the first short film I wrote and directed in college that felt like a more fully realized production. With only five minutes to tell the story, I wanted to create something shocking, visually memorable, and darkly playful, which pushed me to take on challenges I had never handled before. The film involved stunt coordination, intense performances, practical mess, real and prop cakes, and one very chaotic cake-covered set that had to be cleaned afterward. As a newer director, balancing performance, visual style, safety, and production logistics was intimidating, but it also became one of the most valuable learning experiences I had early on. Bite Me challenged me in the best way and gave me the confidence to approach each project after it with a stronger sense of trust in myself as a filmmaker.
