Brand New and Maybe Someday are a connected music video duology created for local student artist Lindsey Hull. During my junior year at the Savannah College of Art and Design, I was approached by producer Leo Frank to direct the project as part of their thesis. The concept was to create two separate music videos that could stand on their own, while also connecting through story and emotion to form one larger short film. I worked closely with Lindsey to understand her identity as an artist, the meaning behind each song, and how the two pieces could speak to each other visually and thematically. Together with our producers, cinematographers, colorist, and production design team, we built a world that follows a character hiding her emotions and slowly finding comfort, love, and support through the people around her. Across both videos, the story moves toward a feeling of release and renewal, reflecting the journey of finally feeling brand new and full of life.
